Cementing its role as a champion of arts and entertainment advancement

KUWAIT: Burgan Bank recently announced its sponsorship of the “Umm Kulthum with Marwa Nagy” concert, marking the beginning of the Bank’s strategic partnership with the National Creative Industries Group (NCIG). The concert is scheduled to take place on May 29-30 at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre, with tickets now available for sale on the Centre’s website and application. This comes as part of Burgan’s dedicated social responsibility program and its unwavering commitment to the advancement of Kuwait’s arts and entertainment sector.

Commenting on the Bank’s sponsorship, Kholoud Al-Feeli, Deputy General Manager – Marketing and Communication at Burgan Bank, said: “We are very proud of our newest partnership with NCIG, which stands today as one of the most influential instigators in the development of the Kuwaiti arts and entertainment sector. On our mission to be a force of positive change in our community, we continue to expand our network of strategic partnerships and collaborations with proactive entities that have left a mark on society.

Building on this soon-to-be fruitful partnership, we are delighted to be sponsoring the ‘Umm Kulthum with Marwa Nagy’ concert, a night of immersive musical theatre that is designed to transport many audiences to a time of glamour and nostalgia.” On her part, Sheikha Shaikha Al-Sabah, Chief Executive Officer at NCIG, said: “We are delighted to collaborate with Burgan Bank in what we foresee to be a journey that will yield very positive results for our community in the arts and entertainment division.

The first stop on this joint partnership is the ‘Umm Kulthum with Marwa Nagy’ concert, a night of music and theatre that brings back fond memories of the foregone Umm Kulthum nights in the hearts of her fans. In addition to the musical acts, the show also incorporates performative acts that walk the audience through some of the megastar’s milestones and introduce a number of key figures who played influential roles to her professional success.”

Marwa Nagy, who plays Umm Kulthum and performs her songs, is an Egyptian actor and singer in the Egyptian Opera House. Marwa has participated in numerous acclaimed shows and is most notably known for performing Umm Kulthum’s songs in several regional and international music festivals. The show is also led by the Egyptian conductor, Ehab Abdel-Hamid.

As a committed patron of the arts and culture in Kuwait, Burgan Bank continues to sponsor notable musical and theatrical performances that explore new technologies and horizons in theatre and music production; especially those that encourage young, aspiring talents on-stage and backstage to innovate and push the boundaries of artistic expression.
