musical celebrates Korea-Kuwait ties

In a celebration marking the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the 60th anniversary of energy cooperation between South Korea and Kuwait, a vibrant musical folkloric event was held on May 1 featuring the popular Korean troupe “The Little Angels”.

South Korean Ambassador to Kuwait Chung Byung-ha articulated his vision for the future relationship between the two nations. Beyond the traditional realms of energy cooperation, he envisaged collaborations in constructing smart city projects, forging agreements in nuclear power and enhancing cooperation in vital sectors such as healthcare and defense. “Our relationship cannot be defined in one word, but I can say that we have enjoyed unwavering friendship and deep mutual trust,” he said.

Chung underscored the significance of the event, highlighting its role in promoting mutual understanding through the exchange of art and culture. He urged attendees to immerse themselves in the performance by “The Little Angels”, a troupe renowned for its captivating dance routines and cultural significance. The ambassador elucidated the troupe’s underlying message of “peace and friendship”, echoing the sentiments they sought to convey since their establishment in 1962, in the aftermath of the Korean War.

Against the backdrop of global conflicts, Chung emphasized the timeless relevance of these messages, asserting that peace and friendship were indispensable for a shared and prosperous future. While acknowledging South Korea’s global recognition for its entertainment industry, including dramas, films and pop music, Chung stressed the event’s deeper significance. He highlighted Korea’s rich cultural heritage, cultivated over thousands of years, as the cornerstone of its current cultural prowess.
