Education officials hail Sheikh Mishal’s support • Amir heads to Egypt on state visit

KUWAIT: HH the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Monday sponsored and attended the honoring ceremony for distinguished schools and teachers, marking World Teachers’ Day, at the late Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Theater in Abdullah Al-Salem University in Shuwaikh. HH the Amir arrived at the venue of the ceremony in a motorcade to a warm welcome by Minister of Education and Scientific Research Dr Adel Al-Adwani and the organizers of the event.

The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister-designate Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah, HH the caretaker Prime Minister Sheikh Dr Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, Head of the Supreme Judicial Council Dr Adel Majed Bouresli and senior state officials. The ceremony began with the national anthem and Quranic recitations.

Adwani then addressed a speech welcoming HH the Amir, lauding his substantial support for the educational sector and pledging to press ahead with the process of overhauling a sector, its systems and curricula. The education minister underscored the key role of the teacher for generations’ development and implanting good ethics and values in the students’ conscience.

Mohammad Nasser Al-Barrak addressed the attendees with a statement on behalf of the teachers, warmly greeting HH the Amir and his gracious attendance of the ceremony, thanking him for his special care for the teachers and pledging to offer all available expertise for Kuwait’s progress and promotion. He also thanked the minister and department leaders for the good management of the educational sector. HH the Amir awarded the attending teachers and representatives of the excellent schools before departing the venue. HH the Amir is scheduled to depart Kuwait for Egypt on Tuesday on a state visit. — KUNA
