KUWAIT: Tomooh Sports Club for the mentally disabled concluded its sports program “Your Health Is In Your Step-4” that was organized by the Kuwait Special Olympics during the month of Ramadan with 70 players participating along with their parents and guardians.
The closing ceremony was held in the presence of Tomooh Club Deputy Chairman Dherar Al-Rabah, National Director of Special Olympics Rihab Bouresli, Tomooh Treasurer Hanaa Al-Zawawi and board member Qaseema Al-Mousawi and club director Huda Al-Khalidi.
The program aimed at encouraging the sport of walking due to its positive effect on health, physical and mental fitness, as weights of participants were taken at the start of the program, and all participants walked for 3 kilometers every day, then at the conclusion of the program weights were taken again and awards were given to those who lost the most weight.
In the women’s category Haneen Al-Misbah was first, Zeinab Al-Duraie second and Dalal Al-Adwani third, meanwhile in the men’s category Ali Al-Shaye first, Abdullah Al-Salmeen second and Mohammad Al-Tarkeit third.
Rihab Bouresli congratulated the winners and lauded the commitment of all participants as well as the good results in the fourth edition of the program by encouraging participants to practice walking sport during the holy month in a competitive atmosphere and direct family members to practice sport and show the importance of good nutrition and reaching the ideal weight.
