Young Kuwaitis turn out to vote, support fresh blood

KUWAIT: In the realm of democracy, the infusion of fresh perspectives and leadership plays a major role in shaping the future. This was evident in the collective backing of the Kuwaiti people for young candidates to push a wave of fresh energy and viewpoints in the Kuwaiti parliament. Kuwait stands in a position where revitalizing its social fabric depends on the decision of the Kuwaiti people themselves.

Kuwait Times spoke to Jumannah Taqi, a young citizen from the third constituency, who shared her opinion about the candidate she voted for and the reason behind her choice. “He is a vibrant young man with a youthful vision and embodies the role of youth in shaping the future, which aligns with the new era in its view of the importance of youth in advancing Kuwait’s development. This is one of the most important points upon which the candidate was chosen,” Taqi said. She highlighted the significant role of contemporary perspectives and the importance of giving voice to the youth to achieve national development.

Kuwait Times also spoke to Ali Al-Bloushi, a citizen from the first district. “I voted for a new face, fresh blood and an opportunity for new minds to engage in this democratic experience. Renewal, change and altering perspectives and ideas are important aspects in the development of the democratic process,” he said. Bloushi also spoke on the importance of introducing fresh perspectives into the democratic zone, by mentioning the candidate’s innovative thinking, which will help direct Kuwait towards a progressive approach.

Advisor and head of the committee in Jabriya at Abdullah Al-Whaib School Khaled Abdulaziz Al-Asousi highlighted the smooth voting process during the holy month of Ramadan. “The voting process started today at exactly 12:00 pm, in compliance with the new law. As for the turnout of females, it was even better than we expected,” he said.
