KUWAIT: Kuwait Ice Hockey team left for UAE on Thursday to prepare for the World Cup tournament (2024), the fourth level, to be held in Kuwait from April 16th - 19th with Malaysia, Mongolia and Indonesia participating.

Chairman of Kuwait Winter Sports Club Fuhaid Al-Ajmi told KUNA that the national team has 20 members and will play two friendly matches with two UAE teams. Al-Ajmi added that the 10 day training camp will be a continuation of the national team preparations that started immediately after the end of the league on March 10th, and this is an opportunity to implement the tactical plans the technical department will follow during the championship matches.

As for the organization, Al-Ajmi who chairs the organizing committee said the club’s hall is being prepared including the dressing rooms, medical clinic and ice has been thickened and marked according to international rules. He said new fans stand was added to allow a larger number of fans to attend, as some technical issues were adjusted so to agree with the International Federation’s requirements, as it oversees the tournament both technically and organizationally. — KUNA
