Zain hosts first Holy Quran Recitation Competition

Kuwait: Zain hosted its first Holy Quran Recitation Competition in strategic partnership with the Grand Mosque of Kuwait. The contest, which aimed to encourage the community to pursue recitation of the Holy Quran and embody its values, offered prizes for the first three winners in each of the six categories.

The winners were awarded during the ceremony held at Zain’s headquarters in Shuwaikh, attended by Zain Kuwait Corporate Relations Department Manager Hamad Al Musaibeeh, Grand Mosque Administration Director Ali Shadad, Head of the competition’s judges panel and Imam of the Grand Mosque Omar Al Damkhi, along with Zain and Grand Mosque officials, and the winners and their families.

The Zain Holy Quran Recitation Competition ran for two consecutive days at the Grand Mosque’s Western Hall and featured three age groups each for males and females: 7-12, 13-18, and 19-25 years. The contest was supervised by a certified judges panel from the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in collaboration with the Grand Mosque, and Zain presented incentive cash prizes to the first three winners in each category.

In a step to engage its employees in its community programs and initiatives, Zain also held the fourth Holy Quran Recitation Competition for employees and their children. The competition was also held at the Grand Mosque, and the first three winners in each of the six categories were awarded with cash prizes as well.

This initiative came as part of the strategic partnership between Zain and the Grand Mosque of Kuwait under the Zain Alshuhoor Ramadan community campaign. The partnership features several key initiatives, including daily Iftar meals at the mosque to serve fasting individuals and hospitality services for worshippers during the last ten days of the Holy Month.

This year, six of Zain’s strategic community partners, including the Grand Mosque, have joined its annual Ramadan social campaign, Zain Alshuhoor. The campaign features a wide range of humanitarian, charitable, social, religious, health, and sports programs that have continued throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Zain Alshuhoor is one of Kuwait’s biggest and most successful community programs during the Holy Month. Every year, the company introduces a bigger, renewed version of the campaign that expands upon the previous year in its initiatives and programs. The campaign strives to share the blessings of this much-cherished month with the entire Kuwaiti people.
