Players’ families to join in sports health program

KUWAIT: Families of players participating in the Sports Health Program (Your Health is in You Step 4) organized by Tomooh Club during the month of Ramadan in cooperation with Kuwait Special Olympics will be allowed to join the program.

Chairman of the Board of Tomooh Sports Club for the Mentally Disabled Engineer Jassim Al-Nouri said having guardians and families of players join the program will help achieve the goals of the program in encouraging the walking sport and activities due to its positive return on the health, physical and mental fitness in addition to the competition atmosphere to achieve the highest rate among the disabled, abled and the guardians as a form of sports inclusion and have families practice the walking sport and emphasize the importance of the right nutrition.

Al-Nouri said participating players carry out their daily training after iftar in various sports games as they are keen to participate in all sports activities, as he pointed to the club’s players’ participation in the sports festival that was held in Al-Shaheed Park on the occasion of the world’s Down’s Syndrome day which included a three kilometer marathon, and in the Arena Challenge at the invitation of the Sports for All Sector of Public Authority for Sport which included physical fitness exercises, running, walking and padel game.

(Your Health is in You Step 4) that is being held with the participation of 70 mentally challenged players of various age groups will continue until 4/4/2024 at the Asima Mall. The weight of participants was taken at the start of the program, and each participant walks for three kilometers everyday then at the end of the program the weight will be taken again and the top three weight losers will be awarded and the same for girls.
