‘Girgian of our Minors’ brings joy to children

KUWAIT: With unwavering dedication to ensuring the inclusion of all children under its care in Kuwait’s festivities, the Public Authority for Minors Affairs hosted its 15th annual “Girgian of our Minors” event on Thursday. The lively evening brought together approximately 700 attendees, including children without guardians. Filled with energy and enthusiasm, they engaged in spirited competitions, savored sweets and immersed themselves in engaging heritage games.

Recognizing the profound significance of such events in the lives of minors and those under the care of the authority, Hamad Al-Barjas, the Acting Director General of the Authority, underscored the organization’s commitment to continue hosting such celebrations. He emphasized the authority’s sense of duty. “It makes us accountable to meticulously organize upcoming events with great attention to detail to fulfill the requirements of our children and their different needs,” he said.

Moreover, he pointed out the crucial role of connecting younger generations with their cultural roots by actively involving them in events that revive Kuwait’s rich heritage and traditions. Through these initiatives, the aim is to cultivate a profound sense of national pride and identity, he added.

Tamader Al-Omar, head of the social and educational department at the authority, highlighted the ongoing efforts of the authority to address the emotional gaps experienced by those children and minors who have lost their fathers. “We are always dedicated to standing by the side of our children and celebrating with them on every occasion,” she said. “While we understand that we can never completely fill the void left by their lost fathers, we are always prepared to meet their requests. Hopefully, we will never fall short in fulfilling their needs.”
