KUWAIT: Chairwoman of the Board of Kuwait Society for the Guardians of the Handicapped (KSGH), member of the UN Committee for the Rights of the Handicapped Rhab Biouresli appreciated the Council of Ministers’ initiative of launching an award in the name of HH the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah for creativity for the handicapped. The award aims at encouraging the spirit of innovation and creative abilities and innovative ideas in addition to developing the skills of the handicapped persons.
Bouresli said "designating an award for the handicapped persons innovations in the name of the country’s symbol represents a core move for establishing a new phase that allows for the handicapped wider horizons to integrated into the society through releasing their innovative capabilities, it also carries the true interpretation of the 17 UN sustainable development goals which calls for the handicapped to enjoy the suitable environment to enable them express themselves and show their innovation as an indivisible part of the sustainable development 2030 strategy”.
She said this initiative reflects the level of care and interest the handicapped enjoy in Kuwait, that has the leadership torch in the this field through several legislations that strengthen the status of the handicapped in the society and give them the opportunity to actively participate in the development march of the country.
Meanwhile Tomooh Sports Club for the Handicapped Chairman Jassim Al-Nouri lauded the launch of the award that carries the name of HH the Amir. He said this award represents the appreciation and care of Kuwait’s handicapped and is a major incentive to bring out the abilities and innovations of this dear group and strengthens their confidence, giving them the opportunity to build the country as individuals able to be outstanding and innovative.
Al-Nouri stressed the importance of consolidating the efforts of all entities concerned with the handicapped persons to provide them with the suitable environment and support the psychological, social, health, cultural and sports abilities to enable them show their abilities and develop their skills, allowing them to improve their performance.
