13,000 participate in the event to emphasize social health and unity

Kuwait held its first-ever “Kuwait Sports Day” on Saturday on Jaber Causeway, with over 13,000 participants making the event a smashing success. The event was attended by members of all strata of Kuwait’s society, headed by HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Dr Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, which touched the hearts of the attendees.

The event included a vibrant display of traditional dances and songs and symbolic representations of Kuwait’s heritage, such as camels, boats and airplanes with the Kuwait flag across the sky above Jaber Causeway. The enthusiastic participation of public schools and other government institutions added a special touch to the event, showcasing the importance of awareness of health and unity.

Marwan Hafiz, second place winner of one of the competitions, spoke to Kuwait Times about his experience, expressing his joy at participating and emphasizing that sports has been a passion since his childhood, so he decided to take part upon learning about the event. Hafiz said he is willing to join future similar events, highlighting the experience not only benefits one’s health and well-being, but also provides an enjoyable experience due to the vibes and atmosphere. He concluded with appreciating the excellent organization of the event and noted the traditional activities added a unique flavor to the overall experience.
