KUWAIT: Chairman of the Board of the National Campaign for Cancer Awareness, also known as the Cancer Aware Nation (CAN), Dr. Khalid Ahmad Al-Saleh, congratulated the Kuwaiti leadership and Kuwaiti people on the occasion of National and Liberation Days. CAN supports patients through various psychological, moral, and material means and helps cancer victims fight the disease and restore their normal lives after recovery. CAN celebrated National and Liberation Days as volunteers waved Kuwaiti flags during the celebration. It also participated in distributing gifts and scarves.

It is worth mentioning that CAN has trained 1,450 dentists (from 2013 until 2023) on recognizing the initial signs of oral cancer. Also, 2,585 nurses have been trained on ways of dealing with cancer patients. 1,533 primary care doctors were trained (from 2012 until 2013) on the early detection of cancerous tumors. CAN was launched in 2006 under the Amiri patronage.
