KUWAIT: To engage with the ‘If You Like It, Sing for It’ campaign, the Private Schools Association partnered with VO company to orchestrate a special event involving all private schools in Kuwait to sing the national anthem. This not only aimed to celebrate national pride, but also to deliver a message that Kuwait is home for all. The event gathered 186 schools at Al Shaheed Park on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, where they sang Kuwait’s national anthem together under the Kuwait flag.

During the event, Ohoud Salem Al-Sabah, who preferred to present herself as a local citizen, told Kuwait Times: "We have gathered here to participate in the Private Schools Association’s efforts to commemorate and celebrate the national anthem. This initiative, led by the Private Schools Association, brings together 186 schools in response to the campaign ‘If You Love It, Sing for It.’ It is remarkable to note that this whole event was organized in less than a week. As a citizen, I extend my gratitude to them. This initiative is not exclusive to Kuwaitis but extends to all residents, and this is a fact that fills us with pride.”

On her part, Zahra’a Dahdari, the CEO of VO company, expressed her joy at the gathering held at Al Shaheed Park. The Kuwaiti Union for Private Schools has joined hands with this initiative, with over 920 students attending from different private schools to sing the Kuwaiti national anthem in front of the Kuwait flag. "We take pride in organizing this event dedicated to honoring the national anthem, which is a vital symbol representing the State of Kuwait. It is our priority to ensure that our children are familiar with Kuwait’s national anthem, and deeply respect it,” she said.

Moreover, Lana Al-Ayyar, CEO of Rayan Holding, who is also a member of the Private Schools Association and its secretary, added: "Since the ‘If You Love It, Sing for It’ campaign appeared, we started thinking about how to participate and support this campaign as a private sector representing approximately 45 percent of students in Kuwait. Based on that, we took about seven representatives from each school to sing the national anthem during the flag-raising ceremony.”
