KUWAIT: The Public Authority of Manpower (PAM) held a meeting with 30 government agencies to explain the mechanism of Kuwaitization of government contracts. The meeting came with the purpose of encouraging Kuwaiti youth and increasing the percentage of Kuwaiti nationals employed as part of government contracts signed with private companies. The Public Authority of Manpower hosted representatives of the 30 government agencies to present the details of the new regulations issued in a Cabinet decision on October 30, 2023. The decision comes into force in May 2024.

The regulations aim to encourage young people to work in the private sector and enhance job security for government contract workers. Moreover, it will contribute to creating more job opportunities for national cadres to gain scientific experience and develop technical skills while developing work and transitioning between contracts.

Acting Deputy Director General for National Manpower Affairs, Najat Al-Yousef, welcomed the attendees, thanking them for their cooperation. She stressed the importance of following the new regulations in order to increase the percentage of national cadres employed by these contracts. "The new regulations are considered one of the mechanisms by which the government plans to increase the percentage of national labor in the private sector as outlined in the government’s work program,” she added.
