Conference explores innovations, research in nuclear medicine

KUWAIT: Chairman of Nuclear Medicine Departments Council at the Health Ministry Dr Abdulredha Ismail said the annual “Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging Conference” under the theme “new era” will witness the presence of the most renowned academics, researchers and specialized doctors in the training programs which is under the supervision of the Nuclear Medicine College of Kuwait Institute for Medical Specialties (KIMS).

The conference is running under the patronage of Health Minister Dr Ahmad Al-Awadhi from Feb 29 until March 2, 2024. The nuclear medicine specialty, he said, had a major effect in diagnosing and treatment of various cases and contributed to improving medical care in the 21st century. Dr Ismail said the conference will provide an opportunity to exchange experiences and research ideas in addition to creating avenues for cooperation. He added that the conference will also explore technology and innovation in the field of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging, while giving the opportunity for discussions in the field of scientific research and its clinical applications.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairwoman of the Conference Dr Iman Al-Awadhi said the conference will include more that 45 lectures with the participation of 25 speakers, including experts from USA, Germany, India and an elite group of local lecturers who are experienced in the field of nuclear medicine. She said there will be a workshop for technicians of nuclear medicine in the field of Computed Tomography Scan (CT Scan) and the basics of MRI imaging, which is the cornerstone of the future of nuclear medicine.
