Kuwait’s 22nd Open Camels Races Championship begins

KUWAIT: Kuwait’s 22nd Open Camels Races Championship for GCC, Arab and European countries witnessed fierce competition between many “thalools” specially from Qatar that was outstanding on day one.

President of Arab Federation and Kuwait Club for camel races Hussein Al-Dawas was pleased with the successful launch of the championship and congratulated HH the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Dr Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, ministers , MPs and the Kuwait people on the occasion of hosting the 22nd championship of the heritage sport.

He said the opening was highly successful and had 20 heats that were strong and enthusiastic. Head of the Palestinian Federation, Member of the Arab Parliament Salem Abu Lughod appreciated Kuwait’s success in organizing the championship and that he saw all previous championships, and expressed satisfaction at the development that accompany each championship.

Championship Director Rabeeh Al-Ajmi was happy with the presence of the brothers in Kuwait to participate in the festival of camel racing, adding that they patiently await this event seeking to win major prizes presented by the organizing committee. He lauded the unlimited support Qatar presents for the heritage sport, and he thanked all committees in the championship and wished all participants success.
