KASF chief hails Kuwaiti shooters

KUWAIT: President of Kuwait and Arab Shooting Federations (KASF) Engineer Duaij Khalaf Al-Otaibi hailed the outstanding results of Kuwaiti shooters during the Asian Shotgun Shooting Championship that was held recently in Kuwait.

Eng Al-Otaibi spoke during the honoring ceremony of shooter Mohammad Al-Daihani who qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympics, as well as the shooters who won medals in the individuals, teams and juniors categories in both skeet and trap during the championship.

He said Kuwait Shooting Sport Club will work on preparing Al-Daihani and his teammate Khalid Al-Mudhaf who qualified earlier for the Olympics in order to achieve the sought after results during the Olympic games.

Al-Otaibi said the Asian Shotgun Championship hosted by Kuwait was a success as testified by the delegates of 26 countries who participated in it, and was highly competitive, and he appreciated the cooperation of International Shooting Sport Federation and the Asian Shooting Confederation and participating delegations with the organizing committee which contributed to the championship success.

He said the continued success of Kuwait shooting sport is due the support of the political leadership and appreciated the generous support that contributed to the clubs efforts to keep Kuwait’s name in prominence in various regional and international arenas.

Meanwhile, shooter Mohammad Al-Daihani who will compete in Paris in the skeet event said the Asian Shotgun Championship being held in Kuwait helped him in qualifying for the Olympics for the first time. He said he will exert all efforts to prepare for the Olympic games to get the best possible result.

Al-Daihani dedicated the qualification to HH the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, government, and Kuwait people. The ceremony was attended by Public Authority for Sport Deputy Director General for Sports for All Affairs Hamid Al-Hazeem, Olympic Committee member Fatima Hayat, KSSC board members and shooters’ families.
