KUWAIT: The Minister of Social Affairs Sheikh Feras Al-Sabah and the Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadi, inspected on Sunday the progress of work on the Center for Addiction Treatment. The inspection tour is to ensure the quality of implementation and to speed up the pace of work. They also discussed the requirements for its opening in accordance with health standards. The Minister of Social Affairs called for coordination with the Ministry of Health team to identify observations and overcome obstacles in order to avoid any delay that may disrupt the delivery of the project and its operation.
During the tour, the minister confirmed the efforts to implement the recommendations of the political leadership and the Council of Ministers in fighting the scourge of drugs and promoting awareness against illicit drugs. The Minister of Health praised the efforts exerted and the initiative to establish the center, pointing out that a technical team has been allocated to identify shortcomings and obstacles so as to facilitate the delivery of the center as soon as possible.
The project is built in the Shuwaikh area on an area of 6,720 square meters and contains suites that will accommodate 208 people. It has health clinics, rehabilitation centers, and sports suites. During the tour, the two ministers were accompanied by the undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Abdulaziz Al-Mutairi; the assistant undersecretary for financial and administrative affairs, Dr. Badr Al-Adwani; the assistant undersecretary for engineering and projects affairs at the ministry, Ibrahim Al-Naham; and the director of the Addiction Treatment Center, Dr. Adel Al-Zayed. — KUNA
