KUWAIT: Director General of Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Dr Fatma Al-Salem, discussed with the Russian Ambassador to the State of Kuwait, Vladimir Zheltov, cooperation strengthening joint media. During the reception at KUNA’s headquarters on Sunday, Dr. Al-Salem and Ambassador Zheltov also touched on various media topics of common interest.
Dr. Al-Salem pointed out the importance of bolstering media cooperation between Kuwaiti and Russian media institutions, noting the need to work on the agreements between KUNA and the Russian News Agency (TASS) in exchanging news and professional expertise in training. The KUNA Director also stressed the importance of cultural openness among people, which portrays the real image of their cultures and values, and achieving a civilizational dialogue and human communication.
The Russian Ambassador, on his part, affirmed the depth of the Russian-Kuwaiti ties, which are witnessing constant development, pointing to the recent increase of Kuwaiti tourists in Russia. Ambassador Zheltov praised the freedom of the Kuwaiti media, whether official or private, noting that media is considered one of the most important modes of communication between people. — KUNA
