Salwa Women’s Club handball team win championship

KUWAIT: Salwa Women’s Club handball team won the friendly Salwa Club Championship, that concluded on Wednesday under the patronage of Sheikha Naeema Al-Ahmad. The final match was with Iraq’s Irbil Club which ended in third place with the score of 27-18. Meanwhile, Bahrain’s Al-Muharraq team was the second spot. Sheikha Naeema congratulated Salwa Club for winning the title and congratulated Muharraq and Irbil for their efforts. She said such tournaments are in preparation for the new season to start next month, and will improve the level of the players.

Iraq’s head of delegation Mousa Mohsen thanked Sheikha Naeema for the good reception and hospitality, adding that his team benefitted from this participation and hoped it continues in the coming years and have more teams to participate. Salwa Club coach Mohammad Mirza said the tournament was excellent and the players gained a lot from it and wished the team good luck in the coming league tournament.
