PAM, PAAET eye occupational tests for expat workers

KUWAIT: Within the framework of the implementation of the development project “Professional System for Smart Recruitment,” Eng. Rabab Al-Osaimi, Acting Deputy Director General for Planning and Administrative Development at the Manpower Authority (PAM), received a delegation from the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) headed by Eng. Sayed Al-Tabtabai, Deputy Director General for Training, to discuss the mechanism of activating a joint cooperation protocol with the aim of starting the implementation of professional tests for workers in order to raise the skill level of the Kuwaiti labor market.

During the meeting, it was agreed to form a higher committee between the two sides to supervise the implementation of the project through effective executive steps. One of the tasks of the committee is to supervise the number of specialized teams to develop the mechanisms of executive work for the project. The Labor Market Standards Department was assigned to the Planning and Administrative Development Sector to start implementing professional tests for the construction sector in the labor market, which includes about 400,000 expatriate workers.
