In a statement provided to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Al-Theyab added that the Kuwait handball team players had demonstrated a great performance and at a higher level, noting that "the team proved to be one of the big four teams in Asia.” "We came back after 15 years and qualified for the World Cup to prove that the team is willing to fight till the end,” he added.
The team’s injuries, he said, "did not prevent us from achieving the objective and presenting the best image of the Kuwaiti handball and proving our efforts in the Asian continent.” Al-Theyab congratulated the State of Kuwait’s leadership, government and people on the qualification of the team to the World Cup to be organized by Croatia, Denmark and Norway as of January 14, 2025, after an absence of 15 years, thanking everyone who supported the team to reach the World Cup.
