Maarafi: Kuwait riders will get their rights

KUWAIT: State Minister for National Assembly Affairs, State Minister for Youth Affairs, State Minister for Communications Affairs Dawood Maarafi said he will review the decision that were issued in regards to Kuwait equestrian sport, that affect a large number of riders.

Maarafi who spoke during the closing ceremony of the International Atyab Al-Marshoud show jumping tournament which concluded on Saturday and was won by Kuwait Club and Asia Champion Ali Al-Kharafi, he said “I took over the youth ministry few days ago, and the equestrian files will be reviewed, and anyone who has a right will get it, and we will play our role in containing the riders and support them in a suitable manner, as we will discuss the legal reasons behind the decisions related to equestrianism, to be amended, and we will not over look the issue which should be studied from the legal aspect.

Minister Maarafi along with the tournament sponsor Waleed Al-Marshoud, and Kuwait Equestrian Federation President Masoud Hayat awarded rider Ali Al-Kharafi, and listened to requirements of Kuwait riders and the problems they are currently suffering from, bearing in mind that Kuwait will host two international championships of the “3” stars category, and they qualify for the World Cup to be held in Saudi Arabia.

Minister Dawood Maarafi thanked the championship organizers and said “the tournament continued for 10 years, and it is an important one for the support of riders who exert all efforts to have Kuwait’s name in prominence in all international arenas, and the current activities has a positive effect on our local and international arenas”.
