KUWAIT: Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs, Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Minister of State for Communications Affairs Dawood Maarafi affirmed work to develop and sponsor the sports movement in the coming period and support sports youth by providing them with all means for creativity and excellence.
This came in a speech by Minister Maarafi conveyed by a press release of the authority on the occasion of his visit and meeting with the Director General of the General Authority for Sports Youssef Al-Bidan and his deputies, and in the presence of members of the investigation committee formed by a ministerial decision to study violations.
Maarafi said that everyone must abide by the directives and ensure the application of laws with all impartiality and accountability of negligent persons, pointing out that many topics were discussed, most notably the decisions of the authority to cancel the publicity of some sports clubs and listen to the authority’s officials and members of the investigation committee in this regard, as all the legal grounds for these decisions were clarified.
He explained that the concerned parties have the right to appeal against these decisions in accordance with the regulating laws and that these grievances are filed if they are submitted by legal means to the Minister’s Office and under his supervision and follow-up in his capacity as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Sports Authority.
He added that these grievances will be studied in all impartiality and transparency, indicating that if it is proven that any of these decisions violate the laws, the right will be returned to its owners.
Maarafi stressed his keenness and the authority’s officials to care for young athletes and provide them with all means to practice sports activity and provide all facilities and support to encourage sports investment in accordance with the provisions of the law without neglecting the regulatory aspect.
He explained the importance of digital transformation in the implementation of transactions between the authority and all government agencies and sports bodies, pointing out that he was briefed on the achievements made by the national teams recently and the support provided to them by the authority after the regulations were amended to increase financial support for distinguished athletes. — KUNA
