KUWAIT: Acting Director General of the Central Agency for Information Technology, Dr Ammar Al-Husseini on Tuesday underlined the importance of applying artificial intelligence techniques in state institutions and their role in improving performance in the government sector.
In a statement to KUNA on the sidelines of the third workshop "Innovation and Application in Artificial Intelligence” which was held by the CAIT in cooperation with Huawei, Al-Husseini said that this workshop aims to understand the technology of artificial intelligence and keep pace with the rapid changes in this field, in addition to studying how to adopt these technologies in various government agencies according to the needs of each agency.
He added that the use of this technology would contribute to changing the level of business performance in the government sector to provide better and faster services, adding that AI has been used in various agencies in the country. Al-Husseini stressed the necessity of adopting these technologies and ensuring the initiative in digital transformation because of its positive impact on changing performance and improving the nature of work and thus developing government sectors.
He pointed out that the previous two workshops touched on machine and deep learning and the development of artificial intelligence, with the participation of leaders and employees from government agencies. The cooperation of the Central Agency for Information Technology with Huawei comes within the framework of improving technology, developing systems in a more effective manner, and exploring the possibilities of artificial intelligence to be a catalyst for innovation and contribute to providing creative solutions to meet current and future challenges in the government sector. — KUNA
