KUWAIT: Minister of Commerce and Industry, State Minister of Youth Affairs Khalid Al-Roudhan will open HH the Amir's 7th International Shooting Grand Prix on Saturday at Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Olympic Shooting Complex, as representative of HH the Amir.
President of Kuwait and Arab Shooting Federations, Chairman of Higher Organizing Committee Eng Duaij Al-Otaibi said that 315 shooters will represent 39 countries from the region, Asia, Europe and Latin America, besides Kuwait.
Eng Al-Otaibi was speaking during a press conference, attended by Deputy Chairman of the Board of KSSC, and secretary General of Kuwait and Arab Shooting Federations.
Al-Otaibi said HH the Amir International Grand Prix, is now one of the most important tournaments on the International Shooting Federation's Agenda, and it includes all Olympic disciplines, and enjoys the participations of the most talented shooters around the world.
He said there are several activities that go alone with the tournament such as the Asian Youth training camp for skeet shooting, in addition to two advanced shotgun and rifle courses for referees, with accredited ISF lecturer.
Al-Otaibi appreciated the support of HH the Amir to hold this tournament annually, and considered this support as the most important reason for Kuwait's shooting outstanding achievements in major events.
Eng Al-Otaibi thanked all those who contributed to the establishment of his sport headed by founder of Kuwait Shooting, Honaram President of Asian and Kuwait Shooting Federations Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah.
Al-Otaibi congratulated Kuwaitis for the lifting of suspension on soccer, and Kuwait's success in hosting "Khaleeji 23", due to the tremendous efforts by the political leadership. He said Kuwait Shooting succeeded in lifting the unjustified suspension on it through court.
He also congratulated Dr Humoud Fulaikh Al-Shimmari for his appointment Director General of Public Authority for Sport.
