Amir, Crown prince meet new National Olympic Committee Chairman, members

KUWAIT: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received at Bayan Palace yesterday Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Mohammad Al-Jabri, who escorted National Olympic Committee (NOC) Chairman Sheikh Fahad Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and the committee's members on the occasion of winning elections of the committee's administrative council. His Highness the Amir congratulated them, wishing them success in serving Kuwaiti sports by providing the appropriate environment for athletes to accomplish achievements. Meanwhile, Minister Jabri expressed gratitude to His Highness the Amir for contributing in solving the sport crisis, lauding all efforts exerted as well, either on official or parliamentary levels. NOC Chairman Sheikh Fahad Al-Nasser, in a similar speech, congratulated the political leadership on lifting the ban off Kuwaiti sports, promising to provide utmost support for Kuwaiti athletes.


Meanwhile, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received Jabri, who escorted Chairman and Director General of the Public Authority for Sports (PAS) Dr Humoud Fulaiteh Al-Shammeri, Vice Chairman Saqer Al-Mulla, NOC Chairman Sheikh Fahad Al-Nasser, and NOC members. The reception came on the occasion of lifting the ban off Kuwaiti sports by the IOC. His Highness Sheikh Nawaf congratulated the audience, lauding efforts of both the executive and legislative branches, as well as all concerned bodies that contributed in such outcome. His Highness wished Kuwaiti sports more success and progress under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir.


His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah also received Jabri and the senior Kuwaiti sport's delegation. During the reception, His Highness the Premier hailed His Highness the Amir's continued support to governmental and parliamentary plan to lift the suspension off Kuwaiti sport activities. His Highness stressed that the government will spare no effort to support the sports and youth activities. He also praised the role played by government and parliamentary officials in the efforts exerted to achieve this decision.
Earlier yesterday, His Highness the Amir received His Highness the Crown Prince, National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanem, His Highness the Prime Minister and First Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
