KUWAIT: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah at Seif Palace yesterday. His Highness also separately received National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanem and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
Meanwhile, His Highness the Amir, with the presence of His Highness Sheikh Nawaf, received His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, who presented to His Highness chairman of Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) Abdulaziz Al-Ibrahim, deputy chairman Nawaf Al-Mehmel, members Khaled Al-Khaled, Dr Mashael Al-Hajri, advisor Hossam Behbehani, Nawaf Al-Bader and Abdulaziz Al-Mansour to swear the oath for their new positions.
During the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Sabah congratulated the newly-elected members and wished them the best of luck in their current position, also hailing the efforts of previous Nazaha members. His Highness Sheikh Sabah expressed his deepest regret for unjustified media and online reports accusing Kuwait of being a center for corruption. He called on Nazaha to face these false claims with evidence and protect Kuwait's bright picture on every level.
His Highness the Amir also affirmed the need to execute further efforts to immediately bring those accused of corruption to justice, in accordance with the articles of Kuwait's constitution. Meanwhile, His Highness said he is proud of Kuwait's just and transparent judicial system. He also encouraged Nazaha to cooperate with NGOs in fighting corruption and spread awareness among citizens to play a role in reporting any suspected acts of corruption.
Also yesterday, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received at Seif Palace National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanem, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anas Khaled Al-Saleh. - KUNA
