KUWAIT: HisHighness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah urged the new cabinetministers to give top priority to Kuwait's best interest, pay attention tocitizens' needs and work on implementing the law and state regulations.
His Highness theAmir made that statement after he received at Bayan Palace yesterday, in thepresence of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-JaberAl-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-HamadAl-Sabah who presented to His Highness new cabinet members. Present were alsonewly-reshuffled Minister of Commerce and Industry and Minister of State forServices' Affairs Khaled Al-Roudhan and Minister of Public Works and Ministerof State for Housing Affairs Dr Jenan Ramadan Boushehri.
His Highness thePrime Minister presented Minister of Justice and Minister of State for NationalAssembly Affairs Dr Fahad Al-Afasi, Oil Minister and Minister of Electricityand Water Khaled Al-Fadhel, Minister of Social Affairs Saad Al-Kharaz, Ministerof Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs FahadAl-Shaala and Minister of State for Economic Affairs Mariam Al-Aqeel, who tookoath on the occasion of their appointment in their new posts. His Highness theAmir congratulated the new cabinet members, appreciating their acceptance totake part in the new lineup.
The swear-inceremony was attended by Minister of Amiri Diwan Sheikh Ali Jarrah Al-Sabah,Deputy Prime Minister and State Minister for Cabinet Affairs Anas Al-Saleh,Deputy Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-MubarakAl-Sabah, Undersecretary of the Amiri Diwan and Director of the Office of HisHighness the Amir Ahmad Fahad Al-Fahd and Acting Secretary General for CabinetAffairs Advisor Wael Al-Asousi.
Meanwhile, HisHighness the Crown Prince congratulated the newly appointed ministers on theprecious trust granted to them by His Highness the Amir and His Highness thePrime Minister, praying to Allah Almighty that they would succeed in carryingtheir new responsibilities in order to fulfill a comprehensive development ofthe dear nation under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir.

In other news,His Highness the Amir received Minister of Health Sheikh Dr Basel HumoudAl-Hamad Al-Sabah, President of the Kuwait Medical Association (KMA) Dr AhmadAl-Enezi and their board of directors. During the meeting, His Highness theAmir expressed appreciation to their work and achievements, wishing them moresuccess. Furthermore, His Highness the Amir said that he appreciated hiscompatriot physicians' 'limitless' dedication to the welfare of humanity,commending Kuwaiti doctors for their altruistic tendencies.
Amid theencounter, the Kuwaiti health minister suggested designating 'Kuwaiti DoctorDay' as an occasion to appreciate their unwavering commitment towardshumanitarian causes. Introducing an excellence award christened after HisHighness the Kuwaiti Amir was also among initiatives considered as part ofefforts to support Kuwaiti doctors, Enezi said. KMA Board of Trustees membersAli Al-Mousawi and Ahmad Al-Rashidi were equally grateful as well, hailing themany accomplishments of Kuwaiti physicians in recent years.

His Highness theAmir also met with His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, theoutgoing UAE Ambassador to Kuwait Rahma Hussein Al Zaabi, as well as the formerDeputy Secretary for Regional and GCC Affairs Hamad Ahmad Al-Amer, who gave HisHighness the Amir a two-part book entitled 'The GGCC Interests and Challenges.'
In the meantime,His Highness the Crown Prince received Municipal Council Chairman Osama HumoudAl-Otaibi and his deputy Abdullah Abdulaziz Al-Mehri. During the encounter, thetwo senior municipal officials presented to His Highness the Crown Prince acopy of a special publication on the history of the Municipal Council since1932.His Highness the Crown Prince thanked them for the publication, wishingthem all the best.
His Highness theCrown Prince also received the representatives of Kuwait's national studentsunion and branch members of Kuwait University, United Kingdom, Ireland, France,Egypt, Canada and Australia. His Highness the Crown Prince wished them successin their academic careers, and urged the students to remain diligent in pursuitof their goals, saying that education is the cornerstone of developedsocieties.
His Highness theCrown Prince also reassured the youngsters about the Kuwaiti leadership'sunyielding support, urging them to keep pushing forward to attain academicglory.
