Speaker Ghanem, Malaysian counterpart hold official talks

KUWAIT: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber-Al-Sabah received yesterday at Bayan Palace Kuwait's National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanem and Malaysia's Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohamad Ariff Md Yusof. His Highness the Amir also received President of the Supreme Judicial Council and Constitutional Court and Head of the Court of Cassation Youssif Al-Mutwaa. His Highness the Amir went on to receive Acting Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.

Meanwhile, Speaker Ghanem held official talks with his Malaysian counterpart, which focused on discussing means to strengthening bilateral relations, especially in parliamentary affairs. The talks were attended by a number of MPs, along with the delegation accompanying the Malaysian top lawmaker, in addition to respective ambassadors of both countries.

In the meantime, Acting Premier Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad also met with Malaysia's Speaker of the House of Representatives, and the cordial talks revolved around matters of mutual concern and bilateral ties, according to a defense ministry statement.

Also yesterday, Kuwait's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah held talks with Malaysia's Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohamad Ariff Md Yusof, which revolved around matters of mutual concern and bilateral ties on regional and global scales, the foreign ministry said in a statement to the press. - KUNA
