Amir sends condolences to Saudi King, Afghan President
KUWAIT: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received at Bayan Palace yesterday Minister of Commerce and Industry Khaled Al-Roudhan, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Abdullatif Al-Zayani, GCC commerce and industry ministers, Chairman of Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ali Al-Ghanem and heads of GCC commerce chambers, on the occasion of the 56th meeting of the commercial and industrial cooperation committee of the GCC's General Secretariat. During the meeting, His Highness the Amir hailed the efforts of GCC commerce and industry ministers and heads of commerce chambers in boosting cooperation in the field. The meeting was attended by Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah.
Earlier yesterday, His Highness the Amir received His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanem and His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. Meanwhile, His Highness the Crown Prince received Ghanem, Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and Deputy Head of the Ruling Family Council Sheikh Dr Ibrahim Al-Duaij Al-Sabah.
In the meantime, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah received Roudhan, Zayani and the GCC ministers of commerce and industries on the occasion of the convening of the 56th ministerial meeting in Kuwait. The meeting was attended by head of the Diwan of His Highness the Premier Sheikha Itimad Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. His Highness the Prime Minister also received journalists Samir Atallah and George Samaan on the occasion of their visit to the country.
Separately, His Highness the Amir sent a cable of condolences to Saudi King Salman Bin Abdulaziz yesterday over the passing away of the mother of Prince Faisal Bin Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz Bin Saud Bin Faisal Al-Saud. His Highness the Crown Prince and His Highness the Prime Minister also sent similar cables to King Salman.
Meanwhile, His Highness the Amir sent a cable of condolences to Afghan President Ashraf Ghani on the victims of the suicide blast that targeted a religious gathering inside a large wedding hall in Afghanistan's capital city Kabul. His Highness the Amir prayed for souls of the deceased and wished the injured quick recovery. Their Highnesses the Crown Prince and Prime Minister addressed cables of similar content to the Afghan president. - KUNA
