Award achievement for Kuwait and its global status: Sheikh Sabah

KUWAIT: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received on Monday at Seif Palace the Governor of the Central Bank of Kuwait Dr Mohammad Al-Hashel, who presented His Highness with the Global Finance Magazine's award for Central Banks' Governors. His Highness the Amir praised such honoring, deeming it an achievement for Kuwait and its global status. Later yesterday, Hashel met separately with His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah on the occasion of his honoring.

Meanwhile, His Highness the Amir received Acting Chairman of the State Audit Bureau Adel Al-Saraawi, who handed His Highness the annual report of the financial year 2017/2018. Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Ali Jarrah Al-Sabah attended the reception. Saraawi also handed copies of the report to His Highness the Crown Prince, His Highness the Prime Minister and National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanem in separate meetings.

His Highness the Crown Prince also received Kuwait's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Sheikh Thamer Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah yesterday. In the meantime, His Highness the Prime Minister received Jordan's Ambassador to Kuwait Saqr Abu Shattal, who handed His Highness a letter from Jordan's Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Omar Razzaz, enclosed with an invitation to visit the Hashemite Kingdom.

In other news, His Highness the Amir sent a cable yesterday to Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain expressing deep condolences and sincere solace for his excellency and families of people who perished in the latest deadly traffic accident in Punjab, Pakistan. His Highness the Amir, in the cable, prayed for souls of scores of people who lost their lives in the accident and wished the injured quick recuperation. His Highness the Crown Prince and His Highness the Prime Minister echoed similar sentiments in cables they addressed to the Pakistani president over the tragic accident. - KUNA
