KUWAIT: 1939 -- The Mubarakiya School holds a play about how Prophet Mohammad’s (PBUH) companion, Omar, became a Muslim. Among the audience was Kuwait ruler Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, whose son, then becoming Amir, Sheikh Jaber, was among actors.

1999 -- Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI) purchases 250 gas stations from the German Aral Company located in Belgium.

2010 -- Fuhaid Al-Daihani, of Kuwait, wins the double-trap Grand Prix after hitting 194 discs out of 200. The championship was held in Malta.

2015 -- UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) grants Kuwait an award for meeting the Sustainable Development food security goals.

2017 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah visits the UAE and meets Vice-president Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashed Al-Maktoum and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al-Nahyan. He then visits Qatar and meets Amir Sheikh Tamim Al-Thani as part of Kuwait’s mediation efforts to solve the Gulf crisis.

2020 -- Talal Al-Rabah, of Kuwait, wins the Hamdan bin Mohammad bin Rashid Al-Maktoum International Photography Award (HIPA) in the Black and White category for his "King of the North” photo.

2022 -- The Kuwait National Seismic Network registers a five-magnitude quake southwest of Ahmadi. — KUNA
