KUWAIT: Zain hosted a special talk at its headquarters in Shuwaikh featuring Canadian technopreneur Bertrand Nepveu, the creator of the technology behind the Apple Vision Pro mixed reality headset. Nepveu took the stage to share his success story and key chapters from his journey in entrepreneurship and tech innovation. The session came in collaboration with Sabah Al Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity (SACGC) – a center of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), Warba Bank, and ALGAS Events.
During his visit to Zain, Bertrand Nepveu met with Zain Vice-Chairman and Group CEO Bader Al-Kharafi, Zain Group Board Member and Omantel CEO Talal Mamari, Zain Kuwait CEO Nawaf Algharabally, and Zain’s executive management team. This session came as part of a series of insightful talks the four partners hosted in Kuwait to introduce the local community to this global success story, making the most out of Bertrand Nepveu’s first ever visit to the Middle East. The series included a special session for Zain and strategic partners’ employees at the company’s HQ, a public session for tech enthusiasts and entrepreneurs at Four Seasons Hotel, and a special session for university students held at Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST).
Bertrand Nepveu was born into a family with a rich entrepreneurial legacy, where he inherited his love for innovation and creativity. Since 2005, he worked on developing his passion for virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR) experiences when he founded his own startup, Vrvana. Bertrand’s journey took a transformative turn when he and his team collaborated with Apple in California. Together, they pushed the boundaries of technology, culminating in the creation of the Apple Vision Pro mixed reality headset. Bertrand’s visionary leadership played a pivotal role in shaping the future of mixed reality experiences.
During the session, Nepveu shared with Zain and strategic partners’ employees the biggest milestones of his success story, and how he transformed his passion for technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship into real-world success. He also shared the biggest challenges he faced in his journey and how he overcame them. Towards the end of the session, the employees asked Nepveu their own questions to make the most out of this experience.
This step came under Zain’s Innovation Nation initiative that strives to foster creativity, innovation, digital upskilling, and entrepreneurship in the community. The initiative strives to share global success stories with students and entrepreneurs across Kuwait and has contributed to empowering thousands of aspiring young people through tens of interactive programs. This session also adds to the long list of programs co-presented by Zain and Sabah Al Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity under their joint vision to achieve a number of strategic pillars, like fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, upskilling young people, empowering startup owners, investing in youth’s digital skills, and more.
