KUWAIT: Member of Kuwait Olympic Committee Board of Directors Rider Ghazi Al-Jraiwi lauded the obvious development of Kuwait Equestrian Sport lately due to the support of the Public Authority for Sport (PAS) and efforts of the board of directors of Kuwait Equestrian Federation which resulted in having a local league championship with the participation of Kuwaiti clubs during the past two seasons for the first time in the history of Kuwaiti equestrian sport, that in addition to organizing several international championships of the two and three star categories in the presence of representatives from the International Federation for Equestrian Sport.
Al-Jraiwi said meetings were held with PAS Director General Yousuf Al-Baidan with him and head of the riders committee along with Member of the Federation’s Board Rider Ali Al-Kharafi, and PAS Board Member Sheikh Yousuf Al-Sabah to stress the role of PAS in supporting Kuwait Equestrianism in order to continue its march and take this noble sport to new heights as it started attracting many new riders due to the major technical level it reached in the past few years. The meeting resulted in having preliminary solutions to support the equestrian sport in the coming period so it can prepare its schedule as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, President of Kuwait Equestrian Federation Masoud Jouhar Hayat said it is necessary to find solutions by PAS to support the local league which contributes to the development of riders and horses so the pace of development continues as it started to gain popularity among the youth which promises a bright future for the sport, that in agreement with the instructions of HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah who stressed the state’s support for the sport when he received the players participating at the 19th Asian Games. He spoke about the necessity of continuing the development of all types Kuwait sport in order to make sports achievements that benefit Kuwait’s name and reputation.
