KUWAIT: The Groups round of the AFC Futsal Asian Cup Kuwait 2022 will be concluded on Sunday. The matches will decide the standings of the third and fourth groups, and the teams who qualify for the quarter finals. Saudi Arabia will play South Korea; Japan will play Vietnam in the fourth group, while Chinese Taipei will play Indonesia followed by a match between Iran and Lebanon.
Saudi Arabia must defeat South Korea to keep their hopes of qualifying as Saudi team have 3 points in third place with Korea still pointless. Meanwhile, Vietnam are on top off the standings with 6 points and need just one point to quality, but these ambitions will face a strong determination by the Japanese team who have three points and wants to qualify also. Saudi Arabia lost to Vietnam 1-3 in the second round, while Japan defeated South Korea 6-0 on Friday.
Saudi Coach said the Vietnam experience overcame the Saudi’s particularly in the second half. Vietnam Coach on his part, was happy with the victory. Iran defeated Chinese Taipei 10-1 on Friday, while Lebanon lost to Indonesia 2-7. Iran’s coach said the preparation for each match has its special philosophy due to the differences of team levels, adding that there are several teams who are candidate to win the championship including Japan, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
