KUWAIT: Themanpower authority suspended 16 files of fishing boat owners and summoned sevenothers. It said this action comes in cooperation with the commerce and industryministry and the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resourceswith the situation in the fish market in mind, as boat owners refraining fromfishing negatively affects the fish market.
The authoritysaid it took the precautionary measure to guarantee no repeat of boat ownersand fishermen violating the law. It said it is keen on taking care of thepublic's interests and maintaining stability in the marketplace. Separately,three ruling family members complained against a Kuwaiti man and his sonallegedly for swindling them out of KD 350,000.
The suspectsreceived money from the complainants to invest it in real estate, but they tookthe money and refused to return it, the plaintiffs told police. Both suspectswere arrested and are being questioned.
