Company optimistic amid infrastructure growth
KUWAIT: The ACICO Group launched a new logo and name at a press conference at its premises in Hamra Tower. Ghosson Al-Khaled, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, spoke about the history of ACICO. "My father Ghassan Al-Khaled founded the company as a real estate company, then built a factory and started operating it even before it had a boundary fence. The beginning was very hard for him, especially since he brought a new system for white bricks, which was something new to the Kuwaiti market. To prove that this was a good system, he built our house out of it," she noted.
"From a small office with only five employees in Salhiya, we grew and expanded into a huge company with 4,200 employees called ACICO Group. We began from Kuwait and expanded to Saudi Arabia, UAE and Qatar. We are proud of this expansion in this short period. We provide bricks, cement and other construction materials, in addition to offering real estate development services. We sell ready houses and also design homes for our clients. We offer them everything from A to Z," added Khaled.
"We represent a name and quality that our clients trust. This trust came from my father's name - Ghassan Al-Khaled - who built this great reputation. This wasn't easy at all, as it took years to build this trust. This is the reason behind our transparency. We care for quality and safety more than just making profits. We are proud that we are a Kuwaiti company. We added ACICO in Arabic to our logo, and also added the word (Group) to the company's name. We are proud that we became a group and are happy to launch it with the media. Furthermore, we held training courses for our staff," she explained.
When the clients come to ACICO, they have the opportunity to choose from a wide range of materials. "Our clients will find all what they need under one roof. We aim to offer them comfort. I'm proud of this company and our team. My dream is to expand our services and become an international company. The biggest asset of our company is human resources. We focus on the comfort of our staff, which will then give us best productivity, and then the client will be satisfied," Khaled pointed out.
ACICO is optimistic for the future. "We look forward to the next five years, as the government will be executing many mega development projects. We are focusing on local projects, yet we also have factories outside Kuwait and they are producing perfectly. Most profits come from the local market and I'm proud of this. In the past, the investment opportunities abroad were bigger than in Kuwait, but today it's opposite," stressed Khaled.
The development plan of Kuwait is proceeding and this will move the economy, which will bring benefits to all people living here. "The Silk City will be a quantum leap in Kuwait, and even HH the Amir is interested in this project. This and other government projects are a great opportunity for private companies. Even international companies will come to Kuwait from China and other countries to work on these projects. We are happy that our government is now cooperating more with the private sector and giving us a chance to prove our high quality of services. This is why we care for aftersales services, which built our reputation," she added.
ACICO has knowhow in tourism and is ready to cooperate with the government. "Kuwait is not a touristic destination until now and we need some legislation to change this. But when it opens to welcome tourists, we will always be ready to execute public projects in this field," concluded Khaled.
