2019 was the month that brought the news about the birth of a new coronavirus, and many of us, if not all, started talking about it as if we were immune or far from it and it would not reach us, bearing in mind that it was in China. But Corona was much smarter than us, and soon enough its babies were everywhere, covering the four corners of the globe. Governments had to move forcefully and declare war against the virus, and decisions started to be made all the way to enforcing partial and total curfews.
Now, men who used to spend much of their time at work or with friends found themselves at home because of the curfews, something they are not used to, nor their women, which created problems, because men started to disturb their ladies' daily routine, interfering with their cleaning, cooking and caring for their children, even making sure the school-going kids remain in touch with learning online for those who choose to do so.
We must salute the great women who turned their homes into playgrounds, restaurants, hotels and leisure outlets for family members; in fact, women are the unknown soldiers during crises, and they are the security providers as the coronavirus creates fears outside. Women at homes are almost the only family members who are always asked questions: What do we have for lunch? Where are my games, mama? I am hungry, mama; I am bored, mama; I want this and I want that… mama!
Oh, you poor mother, first of all, may Allah bless you, then please make sure to get some time alone away from all the noise and demands. You must not get angry, and avoid being nervous, while remembering that you are the most important element around - in fact you are the first line of defense. I can't stop saying that women were subject to injustice for a long time, and are still are not receiving their dues at home, and are the first to be blamed if something goes wrong, regardless of what it may be.
Mothers are the source of warmth, love and sacrifice - they are the ones who care about the comfort of their children. A mother instills values, self-confidence and courage, and directs them to the right path of success. Is it not that when you fall, your mother will ask whether you are ok or not, while others most likely will ask what happened?
The mother's heart is a flower that never wilts; we are indebted to them for all the achievements that we made, and who will keep treating us as their babies until their last breath. Thank you mothers of the world! "Successful mothers are not the ones that have never struggled; they are the ones that never give up, despite the struggles." - Sharon Jaynes
