KUWAIT: A new scientific study said around 60 percent of male members of the Kuwaiti society confirmed their commitment not to pay more than KD 4,000 as dowry.
They see this amount as suitable, but is not accepted by women. Both genders agreed that dowry should not exceed KD 10,000. The study revealed that single men form a percentage that exceeds that of women, as one third of Kuwaiti families, or 31 percent, have one or more unmarried males aged over 30, while the females form a fifth at 19 percent. - Al-Qabas
