KUWAIT: Director General of Zakat House Majed Al-Azmi announced on Sunday that Zakat House has contributed KD 2 million to the national campaign aimed at repaying the debts of insolvent individuals. The initiative, organized by the Ministry of Social Affairs, aligns with the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and reinforces the state’s commitment to supporting financially struggling citizens. Speaking to KUNA, Al-Azmi emphasized the Ministry of Social Affairs’ dedication to establishing a transparent mechanism that ensures aid reaches the maximum number of eligible recipients through well-defined criteria and regulations.

He highlighted that the donation is part of Zakat House’s ongoing efforts to fulfill its social responsibility and support vulnerable segments of society. He noted that Zakat funds can be allocated for this purpose, given the significant moral and religious merit in alleviating the hardships of those burdened by debt. Al-Azmi reiterated Zakat House’s commitment to assisting those in need, underscoring the spirit of solidarity and cooperation within Kuwaiti society and the strong bonds that unite the Kuwaiti family. — KUNA
