Istanbul: Turkiye announced monitoring three earthquakes on Saturday, with one being at 4.4 magnitude on Richter scale in southern Turkiye, with no damage until now.
According to a statement by Turkiye's Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD), the 4.4 magnitude earthquake hit Adiyaman province. It added that another earthquake of four magnitude hit Antakya in Hatay province and a third one with 4.1 magnitude hit Adana province.
Turkiye has been hit by a series of earthquakes and aftershocks since the devastating earthquake of 7.7 magnitude that hit southern Turkiye and northern Syria on February 6.
The aftershock was felt in Lebanon, Palestine, Jordan, Iraq and Egypt.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan described the disaster as the worst since the 1939 earthquake of 7.8 magnitude that killed over 32,000 in the country, The World Health Organization (WHO) estimated the number of people affected by February's devastating earthquake in Turkiye and Syria at about 23 million.
