KUWAIT: KuwaitCrowne Plaza Hotel will be the venue of the official opening ceremony of the25th Asian Bowling Ten Pin Tournament to be held in Kuwait for the first timein Kuwait with 27 countries participating. The tournament will be held underthe patronage of HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-HamadAl-Sabah, and will conclude October 30.
InformationMinister, State Minister for Youth Affairs Mohammad Al-Jabri will represent HHthe Prime Minister in the opening ceremony in the presence of the President ofInternational and Asian Bowling Federations, President of Kuwait Bowling ClubSheikh Talal Al-Mohammad in addition of heads of participating Asianfederations.
Activities of thetournament started with the 25th meeting of the Asian Bowling FederationExecutive Committee, then bowls were registered as delegations were arrivinginto the country.
Twenty sevencountries confirmed their participation so far, they are Afghanistan (7players), Australia (12), Bahrain (6), China (12), Egypt (8), Hong Kong (9),Indonesia (11), Iran (6), Iraq (4), Japan (6), Jordan (6), Kazakhstan (5), S.Korea (12), Kuwait (12), Macao (6), Malaysia (12), Oman (6), Pakistan (6),Philippines (!2), Qatar (6), Saudi Arabia (6), Singapore (12), Taipei (12),Thailand (12), UAE (6) and Uzbekistan (7). It is worth noting that Egypt is amember of the Asian federation because Africa does not have a federation yet.
The tournamentwill see 154 men and 74 women participating and competing for 12 gold medals inthe individual, doubles, threes and teams and the masters.
