KUWAIT: A Syrian boy hanged himself to death inside his family's Nugra home after failing his finals exams. His body was recovered by the coroner. Family members were shocked to find the 14-year-old hanging dead, so they called the police, who went along with criminal evidence personnel to the scene. The family members said their son was going through tough times after failing his exams and kept to himself.
Doctor jailed for drug use
Ahmadi detectives arrested a Bulgarian anesthetist who works for a private hospital in Ahmadi governorate for being wanted to serve two-year jail sentence for drug use. Security source found it strange how officials of the hospital allowed him to work although he was convicted of such charges. The doctor was arrested at work and sent to the sentences implementation department. The source added that 'wasta' (connections) failed to release the doctor and he is on his way to the central prison.
Families fight
A brawl between children in Saad Al-Abdullah turned into a fierce fight between their families, and prompted a citizen to shoot at his Norwegian and Kuwaiti neighbors, injuring them both. A security source said Interior Ministry operators received a call about shots and injuries in Saad Al-Abdullah. Jahra police rushed to the area accompanied by paramedics, who took the victims to Jahra Hospital. The hospital investigator noticed crowds around the hospital, so backup patrols were sent to prevent matters from escalating and only patients were allowed in. Detectives are investigating the shooter's possession of the firearm and the shooting.
Driver harassed
A lawyer was harassed by two men driving a car with temporary license plates after she ignored them. They insulted her with indecent words, then forced her to crash into the pavement, which damaged her car. The lawyer said she left Ahmadi court and went to another place, where two men talked to her about committing indecent acts. When she admonished one of them, he insulted her, so she drove off, so the two chased her and made her hit the pavement several times. The lawyer went to Fintas police station and lodged a complaint against them.
AK-47 found
Weapons detectives went to a charity society in Riqqa to seize an AK-47 that was found between clothes given by donors. State security were informed the incident. - Al-Rai
