KUWAIT: Traffic campaigns that were carried out last week (between Dec 12 and 18) resulted in issuing 22,142 citations for phone use, reckless driving and safety violations. The campaigns resulted in arresting 69 people who committed grave violations and 41 juveniles for driving without a license, while 23 vehicles and motorcycles were impounded.
Fatal crash
A Kuwaiti, 31, was transferred to hospital but succumbed to his injuries after he was involved in a car accident. The deceased's twin brother told West Sulaibkhat police that his brother was accompanied by another person, who was injured. He said three others were injured in the other vehicle. All were taken to hospital by paramedics.
Cables stolen
A security source said a Kuwaiti, 27, working for an oil company, told Subiya police that 21 well cables were stolen from well no. 0090-bh, and the same number from well no. 0092-bh at Bahra field. He said the estimated value of the stolen cables is KD 2,478.
Fugitive arrested
An American suspected of taking photos of a facility in Salmiya was found wanted over a debt and sent to concerned authorities. As for the photographing, nothing suspicious was found.
Gunfire
