
KUWAIT: The Interior Ministry’s Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic Affairs Major General Abdullah Al-Muhanna issued a decision allowing the impounding of cars driven on the right emergency lane for two months. Muhanna categorized violations as follows.
First: If the car is driven on the left shoulder during the allowed time with a speed over 45 km/h, a violation of police instructions will be registered.
Second: If the car is driven on the left shoulder out of the allowed time, a violation of driving on the shoulder will be recorded.
Third: Driving on the right shoulder is not allowed at all, and the car will be impounded and a ticket for driving on the shoulder will be issued.
Fourth: The violating car can be impounded according to what is mentioned in items second and third (two month impoundment). —Al-Aan
