KUWAIT: Four inspection teams raided the Friday Market and filed 194 citations, the Manpower Public Authority’s Deputy Chairman for Labor Protection Abdullah Al- Motoutah said. Violations detected during the crackdown include residency visa violations by government employees, dependents, laborers on government contracts and farm workers working at the market. Motoutah said that the violators were arrested and referred to relevant authorities.
Taxi drivers Acting Director of the Manpower Public Authority Ahmed Al-Moussa stressed that the support given on facilitating measures after assessing taxi offices’ needs for labor was made upon instructions from minister Hind Al-Subaih. Speaking on receiving the chairman of Kuwait Automobile Trading Union’s Khairan Al-Ajmi, Moussa said the benefits were given to taxi owners due to the problems these companies suffer due to a lack of taxi drivers.
