KUWAIT: Acting Jahra Security Director Colonel Waleed Al-Shihab was shocked to see a seemingly ‘driverless’ ATV on a street. He approached the vehicle and asked the driver to stop, only to be surprised that the driver was an 11 year old boy with his siblings sitting next to him. When asked what were they doing, the children said they were going to their grandfather’s house. The three were taken to Taima police station, the vehicle impounded and the father cited.
Marijuana found at airport
Airport customs officers foiled an attempt to smuggle marijuana by an Indian man who brought it from his country in a box. The man was sent to the Drugs Control General Department (DCGD). The 2.25 kilograms of marijuana were found when the luggage was checked. The Indian works as a driver for a citizen and said the drugs are for his own personal use.
Public drunk arrested
Hawally police arrested a young man in a state of intoxication. The man was found to be in possession of a bottle of locally made liquor, a pistol and five rounds. He was taken to Hawally detectives department. A police patrol stopped a car being driven erratically and found the driver to be intoxicated.
Absconding girl and man arrested
A citizen caught with an absconding girl was arrested for helping her and resisting police. He was charged with harboring an absconder and resisting arrest. Southern roads police stopped a car with a man and woman inside. When their IDs were checked, it was found the girl was reported missing from her family’s home four days earlier. A security source said the citizen resisted police and attempted to attack them but was controlled and taken along with the girl to the police station.
Local liquor maker seller arrested
Policemen arrested a taxi driver in possession of 94 bottles of locally made liquor he was selling in the Mangaf area. The Indian man was sent to DCGD. He was stopped by a police patrol and seemed confused, so he was searched and the bottles were found.
Embezzler arrested
Hawally detectives arrested an Egyptian man for embezzling KD 3,120, following a complaint by a citizen at Nugra police station. In this complaint, the citizen told police that the Egyptian man who works in food stuff sales took the money and disappeared. He was taken to Hawally detectives office for further legal action. – Al-Rai
