KUWAIT: Residency affairs detectives discovered 30 fake companies including 18 that only existed nominally and had no offices at all, said security sources.

The sources explained that in collaboration with the manpower authority and under direct instructions from the Interior Ministry's Assistant Undersecretary for Citizenship and Residency Affairs Major General Mazen Al-Jarrah, the detectives discovered that 430 workers had been sponsored by fake companies who brought them to Kuwait and left them to seek other jobs in local markets, posing considerable security threats.

The sources said that a large number of these laborers had been arrested and interrogated while a search is still in progress for the others where they live or work in Mirqab, Hawally and Sharq's vegetable and fruits market.

The source also highlighted that this step comes within the instructions given by MSAL Minister Hind Al-Subaih to cooperate with residency detectives in a bid to fight visa traffickers and reduce marginal and loose labor in order to ultimately create a demographic balance in Kuwait. - Al-Rai
